Mesa is known as a city in the country of Maricopa in U.S state of Arizona. The city is surrounded by Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community on the north, Gilbert and Chandler on the south, Apache Junction on the east and Tempe on the west. Mesa is situated around 20 miles east of Phoenix. The city is considered after Phoenix and Tucson and is known as the third largest city in Arizona. Total population of the city is around 460,000. It is the largest city in U.S which is not a combination of city-country. The climate of the city is very pleasant. However the Polytechnic campus of the university named Arizona State University located in the southeastern portion of Mesa. There are around 6000 graduate and undergraduate students enroll in this campus. There are two airports available in the city. One is Falcon field that is located in the northeastern –portion of the region. It was founded as a training field for British RAF pilot during Second World War. The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is situated in the southeastern region of the city and it offers a limited service to the International airport named Sky Harbor international Airport.
