Odessa is the third largest city in Ukraine and is an important commercial, industrial and cultural center in the southern part of Russia. The city is the fourth largest city of Imperial Russia with a population of about 1,029,000 people. Odessa is situated on terraced hills overlooking a small harbor with a mild and dry weather. The city holds a special place in the hearts of Russians and Ukrainians as it is a beautiful city on the Black Sea coast. Odessa is the most important port of Ukraine and is the third leading trading city in old Russia.
