It is much less rainy than earlier in the summer, and there is a lot of bright sunshine. However, it feels much cooler on the outskirts of the city and at East Lake Park.
The average nightly low temperature is 25 °C (77 °F), and the average daily high temperature is 33 °C (91 °F). The humidity at 79% makes it sweltering many days, and some days will likely seem the hottest of the year due to the bright sunshine. A third of the days are clear or mostly clear.

Visit East Lake Park for the Lotus Festival
East Lake Park: The Lotus Festival ends in mid August. The dreamy lotus blossoms emit a dreamy scent dozing in pads in red, white and blue shades. Escorting frogs provide a sonorous melancholy melody. On hot days, this huge parkland is a shady and cooler place to enjoy gardens and scenery.
Visit the Hubei Provincial Museum
Hubei Provincial Museum: If the weather is inclement, you can step into Hubei's main museum. The museum is right on the shore of East Lake in the park. Tourists appreciate the beauty, antiquity and value of the items: some are national treasures. It is Wuhan's favorite foreign tourist attraction.

Low Travel Season
Though a flood of students and university staff arrive in late August, it is low tourism season in Wuhan. Attractions are less crowded, except towards the end of August. Wuhan flights, train tickets and hotel rooms are easier to get and generally less expensive. We can arrange these.
